New York City Wine and Food Festival: Ticket Giveaway, 'Breakfast of Champions'

20090902nywinefood.pngThe New York City Wine and Food Festival is coming up in just a few weeks, held from October 8-11, with events all over the city. At Serious Eats, we'll be giving away pairs of tickets to the festival's wine events—and we're particularly excited for this one, "Breakfast of Champions."

One might expect a Bloody Mary or bellini at the breakfast table, but there's no reason to wait until cocktail hour to make your drink a little more exciting. Joshua Wesson, acclaimed sommelier and co-founder of Best Cellars, will show you just what to pair with pancakes—or granola, or a frittata, or whatever else the morning might hold.

Tickets are still available for the October 10 seminar, at $75/head, but we're giving away a pair right here.

To enter, just answer the following question in the comments: What's your favorite breakfast-beverage pairing? ("Coffee and cereal" tolerated, but hardly in the spirit of the event.)

One winner will be chosen at random from among eligible commenters. Winner will receive two tickets to the event above. Both ticketholders must be 21 or older to attend. Contest will end and comments will close at 9AM ET, Wednesday, September 16, 2009. One entry per community member. The standard Serious Eats contest rules apply.

nothing has ever matched that first time of wine with breakfast

I like a mimosa with something really salty like biscuits with sausage gravy, chicken fried steak and some crispy potatoes. There was a place in Denver called the Breakfast Inn that had that amazing combo (the steak came with an amazing chicken gravy on it ) and I have been looking for a replacement ever since. I am about 15 pounds lighter now though.
